Professional Experience
Joanna Garelick has experience in all aspects of patent litigation in the chemical and pharmaceutical arts and in many aspects of trademark practice. She has represented clients in federal courts in both patent and trademark litigations and also counsels clients with respect to foreign trademark oppositions.
In 2004, Ms. Garelick served as a law clerk to the Honorable Lawrence E. Kahn, United States District Judge in the Northern District of New York.
While in law school, Ms. Garelick was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and participated in the AIPLA Richard S. Giles Moot Court Competition where she was named the Regional Competition winner and a National Competition Semi-Finalist. The faculty at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law awarded Ms. Garelick the Jacob Burns Medal for Best Moot Court Oralist in the Class of 2003 and the Steven Eric Tannenbaum Leadership Award for service to the Cardozo community.
