John W. Kirkland’s practice focuses on patent litigation with an emphasis in the chemical, biotechnology and pharmaceutical arts. Prior to law school, John was employed by Merck & Co. as a scientist.

While in law school, John served as a Notes and Comments Editor of the Arts and Entertainment Law Journal, was a Heyman Scholar and a member of the Intellectual Property Law Students Association.

D. Del. (2012)
ANDA litigation relating to a vitamin-D analog used in the treatment of dialysis patients. The litigation culminated in a five-day bench trial in Delaware involving issues of infringement and validity. John was a team member who was successful in prevailing on all issues on behalf of our client Genzyme.
