NEW YORK, NY, (January 6, 2014) – Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto, one of the nation’s premier intellectual property law firms, is pleased to announce Charlotte Jacobsen, who is based out of the New York office, has been elected partner of the Firm, effective January 1, 2014.
Charlotte Jacobsen practices complex patent litigation concerning biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and the chemicals arts, with an emphasis on litigation under the Hatch-Waxman Act. She has worked on cases concerning anti-cancer drugs, oral contraceptives, polymorphs, antibodies, and polymers. Additionally, Ms. Jacobsen has experience in litigation pertaining to patent inventorship and arbitration before the ICC International Court of Arbitration.
Ms. Jacobsen received her LL.M. from Columbia Law School in 2008 where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. She earned a B.V.C. from Inns of Court School of Law in London in 2003 where she was awarded a Lord Denning Scholarship from Lincoln’s Inn. She also received her C.P.E. from City University in London where she awarded a Lord Brougham Scholarship and a Hardwicke Scholarship from Lincoln’s Inn. She received her M.Sc. in Forensic Science from King’s College in London and her M.A. in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University in the United Kingdom.
Charlotte is admitted in England and Wales, the State of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the New York Intellectual Property Law Association. She was previously an associate of the firm.
