Fitzpatrick attorneys embrace our obligation as professionals to provide legal services for those in need. We understand that lawyers hold a privileged position in society, giving us in return a special duty to the courts and the community. As an intellectual property law firm, we are in a position to provide pro bono services in the specialized fields of patent, copyright, and trademark law, and consequently devote a portion of our pro bono work to those areas. In past pro bono engagements, we have defended a trademark action against a children’s music camp, represented families of victims of the 9/11 terrorist attack, argued for veterans before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, represented a victim of predatory lending mortgage practices, and provided patent advice to individuals. Our established pro bono practice areas include traditional IP issue areas, as well as others, such as veterans assistance, in which we have chosen to concentrate our public service.
