Metatag use leads to award of profits and attorneys’ fees

A recent decision by the Court of Appeals for the First Circuit examines the use of trademarks as internet meta tags and concludes that the defendant’s use was infringing and that the plaintiff was entitled to over $200,000 of the defendant’s profits and nearly $200,000 in attorney’s fees as a result of defendant’s wilful infringement.
