Supreme Court Hears Oral Argument in Akamai Technologies v. Limelight Networks

On April 30, 2014, the Supreme Court of the United States heard oral argument in Limelight Networks, Inc. v. Akamai Technologies, Inc., No. 12-786 (April 30, 2014). A principal issue in this case is whether the Federal Circuit erred in holding that a defendant may be held liable for inducing infringement under 35 U.S.C. § 271(b) even though no single entity has committed direct infringement under § 271(a).
