Lead the way – a principle that guided Steve Belisle during his prior service as a U.S. Army combat engineer officer and Airborne Ranger, now fuels Steve’s service and commitment to clients from around the world. For over 17 years, Steve’s client services have focused on patent and trademark litigation before U.S. district and appellate courts, Section 337 investigations before the U.S. International Trade Commission, and contested proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, as well as on client counseling, due diligence, and other strategic IP services. By leveraging his leadership and litigation experience, along with his mechanical engineering and design experience, Steve brings vision, efficiency, responsiveness, and fiscal discipline to every client engagement.
Steve’s service and commitment also extends to various bar and civic associations. He is the Chair and past Vice Chair of AIPLA’s Professional Programs Committee, a past Chair and Vice Chair of AIPLA’s Online Programs Committee, and a past Co-Chair and Member of the Steering Committee of the D.C. Bar’s Intellectual Property Law Section. He also provides legal services to fellow veterans through the Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program. For his community in Fairfax, Virginia, Steve is the President of the Country Club View Civic Association.
Steve and his Fitzpatrick colleagues secured two back-to-back General Exclusion Orders for long time client Canon from the U.S. International Trade Commission in Investigation Nos. 337-TA-918 and 337-TA-829, both of which prohibit the importation of toner cartridges and components thereof that infringe various Canon patents on laser toner cartridge technology. The Commission also issued Cease and Desist Orders against many of the Respondents in the Investigations, prohibiting the sale of infringing toner cartridges that have already been imported.
